While, when you think of social media and video, the first thing that comes to mind isn’t probably LinkedIn. The B2B social network is best known for it’s recruitment features as well getting in front the business executives in your field that mean the most to you and hope to do business with.
Then in the summer of 2017, LinkedIn introduced native video that users could utilize to tell more of their stories and experiences.
This new feature really took off, as videos on LinkedIn are now being shared 20 times more than other types of content. Now users have a different type of way to jump start new conversations with colleagues and prospects.
Well now LinkedIn is taking video one step further. Now within LinkedIn videos you can add filters as well as text styles, similar to the features you can utilize on Snapchat and Instagram.
So why you may ask did LinkedIn add these features? Instagram and Snapchat are vastly different in nature then LinkedIn. Here are a few reasons and examples:
- With more and more users utilizing video on LinkedIn, there is always the possibility of not getting seen. With the filter and text feature you have new opportunities to stand out from the crowd.
- By having the text overlay can help tell more of the story of the video and give users a quick synopsis of what it is about without them having to commit the time to pressing play and actually watching it or having the sound on.
- Filters and text add a new dynamic that can spike a person’s interest in your content and your company. Remember, everyone loves to do business with people and company’s that are creative and innovative. You can show both of these characteristics using this new video enhancement feature.
Currently LinkedIn offers three text styles and three filters with more to come in the future on their mobile app.
Professional social networking doesn’t have to be boring and the more creative you get, the more business opportunities you may just get.
